OFF-ROAD CHALLENGE
GENERAL RULES:
1. FFD TECH OFFICIALS DECISION WILL BE FINAL, AND WILL PREVAIL ON ANY SITUATION NOT COVERED BY THESE RULES.
2. FFD TECH OFFICIALS HAVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE OR DISQUALIFY ANY ENTRY FOR ANY REASON FELT NECESSARY, WITHOUT WARNING. I.E. UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT, FIGHTING, HOT DOGGING IN THE PIT AREA, ETC.
3. NO ALCOHOL OR DRUGS PERMITTED IN THE PIT, STAGING, AND REGISTRATION AREA AT ANY TIME. THIS WILL HAVE A ZERO TOLERANCE. NO WARNING WILL BE GIVEN AND IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION WITH NO PROTEST.
4. STARTING POSITION AND RACE ORDER WILL BE DETERMINED AT REGISTRATION.
5. ONE CLASS ENTRY PER VEHICLE, PLUS A POWDER PUFF ENTRY.
6. ANY DRIVER NOT STAGED 5 MIN. AFTER CLASS HAS BEEN CALLED WILL BE DISQUALIFIED, NO EXCEPTIONS.
7. ALL VEHICLES MUST STAGE THEMSELVES, NO TOWS TO THE STARTING LINE.
8. MUST HAVE THREE ENTRIES IN A CLASS TO QUALIFY. IF THE CLASS IS SHORT, THE DRIVER HAS AN OPTION OF REFUND OR MOVE UP BY TIRE OR ENGINE SIZE. EXCEPT SUPER MODIFIED CLASS.
9. FFD TECH OFFICIAL WILL MEASURE ALL TIRES AT TECH INSPECTION BY THE DOT STAMP.
10. THERE WILL BE NO CHANGES TO THE TRACK, PIT, OR STARTING LINES DURING A CLASS.
11. ANY HIT BOUNDARIES WILL GET A 5 SECOND PENALTY, AND STAY ON SET COURSE OR SUFFER DISQUALIFICATION.
12. ALL RUNS WILL BE BASED ON TIME AND DISTANCE; DISTANCE WILL BE MEASURED TO THE CENTER OF THE HUB ON THE DRIVER’S SIDE ONLY. ALL TIES WILL BE DETERMINED BY ANOTHER RUN.
13. ALL DRIVERS MUST BE 18 YEARS OLD AS OF THE DAY OF THE EVENT AND HAVE A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE.
14. ALL DRIVERS MUST WEAR A HELMET, SHOES, SLEEVED SHIRT, AND PANTS.
15. ALL DRIVERS USING EXOTIC FUELS (OTHER THAN PUMP GAS AND DIESEL) MUST WEAR A FULL FIRE SUIT WITH HEAD SOCK, BOOTS AND GLOVES.
16. ALL DRIVERS MUST ATTEND THE DRIVERS MEETING.
17. ALL DRIVERS MUST SHUT DOWN WHEN SIGNALED BY FLAG OFFICIAL OR AT THE SHOWING OF A RED LIGHT, WHEN ALL FORWARD MOTION HAS STOPPED FOR 2 TO 3 CONSECUTIVE SECONDS. BACK UPS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
18. ALL DRIVER’S MUST REMAIN IN THE VEHICLE WITH HELMETS ON WHILE BEING REMOVED FROM PIT.
19. ALL DRIVERS MUST KEEP HEAD, HANDS, AND FEET INSIDE THE VEHICLE AT ALL TIMES.
20. ALL DRIVERS WILL START WHEN SIGNALED BY THE START OFFICIAL. THE CLOCK WILL START AT THIS TIME.
21. ALL ENGINE MODIFICATIONS MUST HAVE THE PROPER RESTRAINTS.
22. ALL VEHICLES MUST HAVE SEATBELTS AND CARRY NO PASSENGERS, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE TRUCK PULLS.
23. ALL VEHICLES MUST HAVE WINDSHIELDS OR DRIVER MUST WEAR EYE PROTECTION.
24. ALL VEHICLES MUST HAVE FRONT AND REAR HITCH POINTS SECURE TO THE FRAME, IF THE HITCH FAILS DRIVER WILL BE REQUIRED TO RE-HOOK.
25. ALL VEHICLES WITH OPEN OR SOFT TOPS MUST HAVE ROLL PROTECTION ATTACHED TO THE FRAME.
26. ALL VEHICLES MUST HAVE KILL SWITCH WITHIN REACH OF THE DRIVER, KEY SWITCH ALLOWED.
27. ALL VEHICLES MUST HAVE BRAKE SYSTEM CAPABLE OF STOPPING IN A SAFE DISTANCE.
28. ALL VEHICLES MUST HAVE FUEL SYSTEM (TANK, PUMP, FUEL LINES) OUTSIDE OF THE DRIVER COMPARTMENT.
29. ALL DRIVERS THAT LOSE PARTS ON THE TRACK OR IN THE PIT WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR RETRIEVING.
30. ALL VEHICLES WILL BE FREE OF HUB CAPS AND WHEEL COVERS.
31. ALL VEHICLES WILL BE INSPECTED TO VERIFY SAFETY OF BRAKES, STEERING, WELDS, TIRES, AND BODY CONSTRUCTION AT TECH INSPECTION.
32. ALL VEHICLES MUST BE FREE OF FLUID LEAKS.
33. ALL VEHICLES MUST HAVE BATTERY(S) PROPERLY SECURED, NO BUNGEE STRAPS OR OF THAT SORT.
34. ALL VEHICLES MUST HAVE ALL LOOSE OBJECTS REMOVED FROM THE CAB AND BED AT INSPECTION.
35. ALL VEHICLE BODIES MUST BE SECURELY ATTACHED TO THE FRAME.
36. ALL VEHICLES MUST BE IN NEUTRAL OR PARK WHILE THE CABLE IS BEING HOOKED AND UNHOOKED.
37. ALL VEHICLES WITH ENGINE STALLS AT THE STARTING LINE MAY RESTART FROM THAT POSITION AS LONG AS THE REAR TIRES (AT CENTER) DO NOT CROSS THE START LINE. DRIVER MUST STAY SEATED AND HOOD MUST STAY SHUT. DRIVER WILL BE GIVEN A ONE MINUTE RESTART AND THE CLOCK WILL REMAIN RUNNING. NO ABUSE OF THIS RULE WILL BE TOLERATED.
38. ALL VEHICLES MUST BE RACE READY AT TECH INSPECTION.
39. ALL VEHICLES WILL COMPETE IN THE CLASS THAT THE TECH OFFICIAL PLACES IT IN. DO NOT LEAVE
INSPECTION IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH JUDGMENT, ONCE YOU LEAVE INSPECTION IT’S TO LATE. NO REFUNDS FOR ENTRY AFTER VEHICLE PASSES INSPECTION. EXCEPTION OF THE CLASS BEING TOO FEW.
